This might sound like a silly question but my neighbour was told that he should underline or use italics for books, novels etc in the title of his essay but not on his others e.g his autobiographical piece or his fiction? I thought you could underline the title in every essay? and/or put in bold?

Hello. I'd like to find statistics about the proportion of female teachers among the education staff in primary and secondary schools in the UK. Could someone provide me with an Internet link to an official site who would display such information? Thanks in advance.

I didn't know if I liked Computer Science when I started college, but just before my senior year I realized I still hated it after 3 years and I had no job in mind that I liked either. I thought I better finish and just take a related job, but I think I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm out now and there are almost no jobs that I like the looks of in IT and I seem to totally hate the field. I have a phobia of computer programming or related things and I got a GPA of 2.6, but made dean's list once, and spent 62% of my college fund to get the BS. It took me a while to realize I hate CS and my interests and personality really changed while I was going through college and they didn't offer CS in high school (like other subjects) so I didn't know that I wouldn't like it so much. I really really hate it. What should I do?

I am a junior and i am not sure if i should take chemistry for my senior year. So far, i have 1 credit of biology, 1/2 credit of chemistry, 1 and 1/2 credits of physics, and 1 credit of general science (basic). I have to take biology next year since it is a higher level class (HL) - but i am not sure if i should take chemistry! (I want to go into the medical field when i graduate).

My 8 year old son is learning double digit multiplication and touching on long division..

I have been reading different learning styles on how to teach this.. I have been using the standard algorithm becasue its what I know and it seems to be the most efficent.. but some websites are showing other kinds that are, to me, more confusing as that is not the way I learned..

Some are suggesting cluster problems-- which seems like a longer way to do the same thing but it helps teach place value.. but they learn that when they learn addition and subtraction... I think by the time they get to multiplication they should know.. There are also other types of algorithms but they also seem confusing..

So my question is what system did/does your child ( or yourself) learn? what were the pro's and cons?
