Hello. I'd like to find statistics about the proportion of female teachers among the education staff in primary and secondary schools in the UK. Could someone provide me with an Internet link to an official site who would display such information? Thanks in advance.

i dont know any statistics or websites.

but i can tell you a possible reason why there are less male primary teachers.

my boyfriend is a primary teacher, and he said thereare less males in primary schols, because of the way society looks at them. they see males (especially young ones) who want to work with young children as suspicious. its wrong but that is society and the views of many shallow minded people

afraid i dont know any websites but i have worked in lots of schools . i have found that secondary is far more male dominated and primary is far more female dominated-im told this is because male teachers are always looking for headships etc where as most (but not all) women are just happy being teachers. all the primary schools ive worked in have had very few male members of staff(not counting heads) which i think is quite sadx
