Studies show that most learning for the very young is through play. Most people learn by doing. Good teachers disguise learning through playing games which appear to be leisure activities. Fun and learning go hand in hand.

primarily leisure activities are for fun, relaxation and enjoyment, but a lot of incidental learning takes place when you are engaged in an activity that you enjoy which helpd make your 'education' complete and relevant to the world we live in today

I am sorry but I disagree as while painting and doing any creatational or innovative work we apply brain and solving mysteries behind everything is actually learning. Learning isn't from books and mugging up formulaes, it is applying them in practical. Music is also an art and we learn language(if a song is in other language). Fun and learning can go hand in hand. That's what I feel.

I most enjoy an activity that stretches my intellect, and teaches me new things.

When I do an activity with my grandchildren, I am always pleased to see that they're learning new things.
