When I was in junior high and high school I never had the option of buying a paper off the internet. Not that I would have anyway. Can you teachers tell when a kid is trying to pull a fast one on you?

Mary's parents decide to give her an allowance every Saturday. The first Sat. they gave her 1cent. For each successive week, they double the amount given the previous week. If Mary saves her allowances, in how many weeks will she be a millionaire?

Some students, they don't even learn the material in school but they got diploma. Do you think it's the teachers or parents fault? For my opinion, not all the students learn material at school. Do you think we should let them have H.S diploma?

math: i dont care wat size binder i need.. im sure i can fit my book in a 1/2 inch.

My son is in the third grade in Texas. He attends a public school. His grades are good, the last report card, they were straight B's and behavior is not a problem. However, his teacher is not listening to me. He is starting to struggle with math, I think I know what the problem is. He attended a private school last year, and already did the work last year this public school is currently working on. My son just hurries to get the work done. He tells me he is bored with repeating the same work. The teacher says my answer is a cop out. I've had a conference with the principal, she is just as bad, if not worse. What am I to do. I had to transfer from the private school because tuition became too high. How do you challenge a bored child? Grades and behavior was never a problem last year, either. This is the Carroll School District in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. If anyone has any experience with how to deal with this, let me know. I don't know what else to do.

I've noticed that my child (who is always on the honor roll) doesn't seem to care if her friends are trying hard and doing well academically. Does it matter to most middle school kids whether or not their friends are doing well in classes? Can you be popular and be failing your classes? Are good grades just for geeks? How important are your grades? How important is it if your friends are making good grades? I would love your thoughts!!

Today i found out that 2 of the people on the school team dropped out, so my friend recommended me on the team. So, now im on the school math team and the competition is in 2 days. Alll these kds on the team had months of training and i have only 2 days. I'm really scared and i feel under pressure! help! can anyone tell me how i can prepare for this and not feel so scared aobut it?

My son's IEP goal is to see progress in stops and fricatives, but the speech language clinician has only been working on one sound for two months. Is this normal? I want to speak to the clinician but I'm not sure if what she's doing is appropriate. Thanks in advance for your serious answers!

Despite the snow, yet my 2 elder step-kids High School for 11-16 year olds closed. Are kids who go to private schools tougher? Or is it that we are in a grip of a H&S society where anything mildly dangerous (oooh a bit of snow!) is considered an undue risk? Does anyone else think this is ridiculous and that all schools who closed today should be ashamed of themselves. And that they are big fairys
