I work for a company called Westminster Explained, providing Parliamentary Training for Civil Servants. We provide several certificated courses and I am looking into how to qualify for CATS points for some of these courses, to make them more valuable for delegates and more easy to sell. CATS (Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme) works as a cross-institutional academic points system, and I want to find out what requirements we need to offer these on our courses, how to get accreditation, and any general information surrounding these issues. Any advice would be very gratefully received, as I'm fairly new here and don't want to let the boss down!

The parents are having a fit over the school starting a new policy on all students having to wear uniforms. The keep harping on education. Here is my thought on it. I was in the service for years. I was proud to wear my uniform. I see young people come in daily and apply for jobs wearing jeans with rips and holes along with flip flops. The go to school with price tags on their clothes and shoes. Is it a fashion show or are you there to learn? Once they can't be different from each other they will have to focus on their education. What are your thoughts?

Grania's husband was a stretcher-bearer and went to the front line, so Grania "consumed like so many women at this time with the tasks of waiting, clings to a few letters that manage to make it back to her, hoping guiltily that Jim, unlike so many others, will survive.'Thus, "a few letters "refer to letters written by Grania or by her husband?

I have a fair few qualiifcations to my name (undergraduate degree included) but have recently become more interested in learning more Biology. I got an 'A' at GCSE-level Biology about 7 years ago, so I want to look into studying 'A' level Biology independently (I'm living abroad at the moment so I can't just drop in to a night-school).

SO, 3 questions in one:

How do you go about this? How much does it cost, on average? Assuming I only study every other evening, how long might it take to complete the course?

Thanks, boys and girls.

i'm asking this because i saw someone else post a question, "why isn't college free? since education is so important for our future, why isn't it free?"

i posted this question because it's a question i never really thought about until i saw the question posted just now. just went with the flow, elementary through high school is free, college isn't.

how come taxes cover the cost of public schools (elementary through high school) but college isn't?

...in Michigan?

Proof of residence, consent of guardian(s), any of that stuff? My younger sister may need to come live with me next year and doing so would require that she transfer. Any information is greatly appreciated!
