Do something to keep you alert--drink a lot of coffee or soda, take a cold shower, open the window--fresh air sometimes helps, etc.

Get something on paper. Even a low grade is better than a zero. You might have to "fall on your sword" and beg the instructor for an extension to improve the paper. However, unless you have been sick, don't expect a lot of sympathy--most teachers have heard all the normal excuses and are not push overs. If you get the extension, be sure to find out how much your grade will be lowered for every day it is late.

If you really can't stay awake, set the alarm and take a short nap--not more than an hour. Then get up and get busy.

Look on an army, air force, navy, or marine corps recruiting site for ideas on the positives on the draft. Off the top of my head--a draft provides a regular supply of new recruits, eases the load on reservists and guardsmen who are called to active duty, and gets new blood and new ideas into the services. It is also good for the recruits--it helps young men and women who are clueless about what they want to do for a career by exposing them to many different jobs and types of people; it helps them mature; it helps them save for college; it provides job training, etc.

Looks like you might be learning more than you realized! Been there.....did that....take your lumps and do better next time by starting very early and sticking with it!
I sounds hard but it really is sooooo much easier!

Write the report instead of asking people what to do about writing it. Would probably be more useful.

Think about how you are going to make up the points that you are going to lose for this assignment.
