The current attitude in America towards immigrants when this nation was founded on/by....immigrants, OR if you want to really get controversial,
The 2nd leading cause of death in america (i believe) is lung cancer. if its not 2nd then its sure up there. Why won't america outlaw cigarettes? How many congressmen own stock in tobacco, how many people die daily, etcetcetc.

I had this assignment in college too, and I went totally outside of the box. Even though I'm completely against it, I wrote an A+ paper on polygamy! It didn't take long to find the countries and states that practice it, and every time I found something morally reprehensible about it, I made myself play Devil's Advocate. I'm not saying write YOUR paper on polygamy, but pick something that you totally disagree with, then try to prove yourself wrong. It's a great challenge, and you'll likely end up with a paper that no one else ever thought of.

capital punishment is always good. you can look up cases and give your input which always takes up good space. also....The pit bulls of America is a group. That is the number one reason EVERY dog has to be on a leash. stem cell reserach is interesting... so is teenage binge drinking. tons of kids die each year from it.
