does it go on the top left or the top right?

where do i put mine and where do i put the address of the person i'm writing to?

I guess they don't teach this in school anymore. Use a block letter style where both go on the left, unless you use letterhead in which case you don't put your own address.It goes like this: your address, skip a line, date, skip a line, address of the person you're writing to, skip a line, salutation (Dear Person), skip a line, letter, etc.

For a Professional Letter, you would put your company name and address at the top left, then the date below, then the recipient address, then the Dear Sir or Madam:

It is all left margin .. Double Spaced between Address, Date, Address and then the Intro of letter ..

If you are doing a business style letter....everything goes on the left side margin. No indentions for your paragraghs and use a colon after your Dear Whoever:

Yours goes in the top left, and the one your sending to goes in the center.
