If your Spanish teacher told you that you could do well in her class, because it is going to be a lot like kindergarten the first year (learning #s Abc's, colors, etc) would you think:
a. I CAN do well in this class, because I passed kindergarten
b. I can slack in this class, because it's too easy
c. I'm still going to do poorly, because I don't care

If it was that important wouldn't it be in the wrighters best intrest to just restate that information?
Does that bother you when you read a book to do that?
Do you find that chapter or page when directed to do so while reading?
I'm just trying to get a feel on what people like to read when they are reading!!!
I'm currently reading the compact reader to help me understand wrightings more and it has a lot of goto page on it! it disturbs me even more so when the book it self. in so many words say that you shouldn't do that say what you got to say!
the book says you need to know your demographic when you wright! so if you wouldn't mine answering this with your range of age i don't need excate teen 20's 30's 40's ect... and if you are male or female!

I don't want a duffle bag thing, or a briefcase...I just want a regular backpack that is designed for laptops, and protect it against say...a 4 foot drop or more. Or a book dropping on top of it.

What is the best way for him to prepare/study to take the test? He has about an eighth grade education, and has a lot of problems with reading & writing comprehension. He is alright in math, science, etc... I want to help him out by buying books, or a program to study from, what would be a good way to get him started?

Being new to Yahoo Answers I have noticed a lot of the use of the word 'lol' Is this a very shortened version of 'low and behold' - or what?

I've seen it pretty often lately, and I really don't understand what it means. Here's the latest one I've seen
'"Consider, too, the Health Jolting Chair of the 1880s. It resembled a garden-variety armchair--only rigged with springs and levers. Its advertising promised that the chair would give "efficient exercise to the essentially important nutritive organs of the body."
According to the manufacturer, all that jiggling and jolting was essential for "millions of human beings who may be living sedentary lives through choice or necessity." The chair was, "For certain classes of invalids a veritable Treasure-Trove." [sic]"

Also, if you could, explain what it means when someone puts something in these brackets [ ] when quoting someone else when the person obviously didn't say what's in brackets?

I must've missed that day of English class, becuase the brackets make no sense to me.

Im forever procrastinating, even as i a type this i have a summer assignment for ap english to be working on- its due tomarrow. i waited till yesterday to start and then i started to talk on the phone. I was watching the Oprah show the other day, and she did a special about schools in the US. I don't understand why and how a country falls from the top, to the bottom in something like education. How can a problem like this be fixed? And why is there always money for war, but not education? By the way, would anyone like to start a fund raiser for school programs?
