Yes, but most of the life in the tree is in the cells just below the bark, and the first layer of bark. The center of the tree is substantialy dead. This is why trees with the center missing (hollow trees) go on living; and why you should bolt things (like tree houses) through the center of limbs, so the damage to the living part is only a small hole on each side.
Many trees are also sexual, there are males and females and you have to have both to keep an orchard healthy.

its a grown up plant! as in a child-adult, similarly plant-tree!! except in a few cases as in banana plant never bcums a banana tree.
