If so,what homeschooling programs give you a high school diploma? If you find one please have it be grades 4-12 at least!

Can someone give a list of cirriculm that you use? I have noticed that some people use different cirriculm for each subject, if that's you, please help. I am homeschooling my 9th grader and 4th grader. Thanks alot!!!

I hear that all the time.

"Homeschooling is a good idea but the child should have friends."
"Homeschooling is a bad idea because you never see anyone outside your family."
"Homeschooling is a bad idea because the child will only be exposed to a narrow worldview."

What do you people think homeschooling parents do to their kids?

More to my point, if YOU had to homeschool your kid, would you lock him up inside all day?

This sounds like a rant but it's a serious question.

I recently took up a job with my husband which is a great job but it involves constant traveling. My boss' wife home schools her children, and i have a 3 year old. I dont have any SPECIAL skills i graduated from high school and thats about it.
Am I actually capable of homeschooling my daughter? What are the ups and downs?

To make a long story short, my Husband is going to be in jail for a year, possibly more and I am very concerned about my 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter. They are both bright and to help keep their minds off of Daddy, I want to fill as much time as possible with learning. They are both very hands on learners so we will be doing alot of field work. We live in Ohio, in the country and I am at a loss for things for them to do outside. My husband is the one who handles this type of thing.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I'm so unsure of my own abilites that I feel I may be selling my daugther short by teaching her at home. I keep hearing and reading about all these kids that are ahead of there peers by being home schooled. How can I be sure she's learning the samethings, and that she's mastering everything according to the standards if I'm not sure I even understand the "Standards". Don't get me wrong I'm an educated women, but I struggled for every "B" or "C" I got. Can someone please give me some advice on how to "destress myself" so my daugther can have a stress free homeschool experience. She wanted to do this so badly, and is so receptive. I'm affaird I'll ruin it or worse ruin her. I feel I'm pushing to hard and expecting to much. But on the same hand I want her to be educated. She's a smart 12 year old kid I just want to do her justice.

What are the first steps?... How do I start and get into homeschooling? And where can I get the curriculm and books that will help me get started with my education..?? I am in Canada BC... if anyone can help me... would you find the sources at like say Chapters??.. I am not sure.. I think I could teach myself to a certain degree, but would need help in some things, like math, I could be okay with other subjects though perhaps.. So how do I get started???
