Go for it! Your children will be better behaved, more intelligent, and have the morals YOU teach them, not what they learn from the punks in the local school. And no, they're not unsocialized! Only ones from wierd religions like mennonites are.

Go to www.hslda.org. They will provide the laws of Texas on their site and other links to home schooling. I am pretty sure Texas is the only state that does not have any restrictions. You can just take the kids out of school and that be that. I would suggest doing some real research and getting a good curriculum before you pull your children out though. This is a good place to start for a great homeschool program. They have a well rounded curriculium that is online vs in books. Good luck with your homeschooling.

Try going to Yahoo Groups... There are tons of groups for families that home school. I was home schooled in Missouri and that is how my mother got us involved and learned more about the education.
