I have been considering taking next year off after I graduate high school before applying to colleges. My parents are not for this at all, and I know everyone says that I'll never make it back to school or I'll become lazy, but my reasoning is this..

I want to go for BFA, and just feel like I would have a better chance getting into colleges if my portfolio was built up more.
I only decided in my junior year that I wanted to go to school for art, so I don't have much. I was thinking about just taking art classes around my area (Pittsburgh) and continuing my volunteer work at The Mattress Factory Art Museum along with other volunteer work on my time off.

any suggestions?

I'm thinking of taking up an apprenticeship, but no idea what field.
I was thinking of an engineering apprenticeship, but ignore that
basically my motivation in working towards one would be the amount of money i could or potentially earn.

Could anybody who has taken an apprenticeship or has info on the starting or potential wages help me out?

I'm a senior in high school and want to get into pharmacy school or a college/University that has a pharmacy program. However, at Wagner College they have pre-pharmacy as a program. What should I pick as my major, biology? Also, during high school I've taken biology, chemistry, physics, and math all 4 years....is this an advantage to get into pharmacy school or does it mean nothing?
*I want to enter pharmacy school right after high school, what schools offer this to high school students? (New York school preferred)

I have an unweighted 3.73 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and a weighted 3.82. I've only taken a couple honors classes throughout high school (Chemistry and Math 9) and no APs, but I'm taking two APs this year (senior year) (Economics and Psychology). I've taken the ACTs twice and scored a 29 Composite with a 9 out of 12 on the writing my first time, and a 30 Compoisite with a 9 on the essay on my second time. I'm a pretty well-rounded student as I have been on missions trips to 3 different countries over the past 4 years, helping to build homes for poverty stricken people and help AIDS patients etc... I am very involved in my school's music program (4 years of marching band, drumline, pep band, jazz band, percussion ensemble etc...) and have had many acheivments in the area of music. I'm not sure about class ranking, since my high school doesn't rank. I am also planning to apply Early Decision. So do I have a shot?

I'm confused weather its worth taking out a crazy huge student loan to go back to school to go to be a Registered practical nurse. I'm almost 26 I have a 3 year old and one more on the way. I've been out of school for a while so the school part won't come easy to me. I'm also scared to take out a big loan for school and end up failing.

I used to be a music major (singing) but now, as a junior, I am changing to music education so that I'll actually be able to, you know, get a job! :)

Anyway, I am transferring to another college. I saw my counselor this morning and he said that's fine because I already have a lot of the required classes, but because now I am dealing with education it will take me an extra year. Is graduating at 23 instead of 22 really okay?

I have been accepted to study at Cambridge university next year, when my daughter will be just under a year old. I would like to go to Cambridge, as obviously it is a very good university and having a degree from there would provide me with lots of opportunities. However, we would be extremely stretched financially if I went there, as a rule is that you have to live within 3 miles of the university (where rent is very high) and that I cannot even work part-time. My partner would have to travel a total of up to 4 hours a day for work, then when he got home he'd have to look after our daughter whilst I went to library to do my uni work so we'd never see each other, and have little quality time with our daughter. I'm considering not going, and just getting a job as family life is more important to me but my partner thinks I'll end up regretting it if I don't go, and that it will be worth the struggle for 3 years...what do you guys think? Go, or work up to a career elsewhere?

Are there any RT's out there that can give me the gist of what radiography classes are like after completing the pre-reqs? I am thinking of taking up some classes, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what the actual radiography classes are like (clinical rotation, lectures- long?, being taught how to operate machines, etc...)?

thanks!
