Other schools that are in or near NYC, and which offer diversity, big campus, urban life, and accept students who are in the same range of grades/SAT scores as Pace does, include:
- City University of NY (part of CUNY)
- Metropolitan College of NY
- Molloy College
- Eugene Lange College (the New School)

And maybe a bit of a reach re: grades and etc. but still worth looking at, are:
- Fordham
- CUNY Baruch
- College of Mount Saint Vincent
- Marymount Manhattan College

St. John's feels a bit more suburban to me, but it could be a good choice. If you do like St. John's, also look at SUNY Stony Brook.

And while Pace is better known for its business programs than its liberal arts programs, that doesn't mean that their liberal arts programs are bad. If you think Pace is a good fit, apply.

Any school in NYC will offer you those things. NYU, Columbia and Fordham are better schools than Pace. CUNY is a less selective school.
