hi, i just graduated and ive been told i wanna go to college. i suppose i should, i do want a career and all; i just dont know which!!!! im looking for good career sugestions where there is money to be made and is a safe job that wont become obsolete in 8yrs or so. mabe something w/ a 4yr degree. ive heard that gradstudents are just wasting their time and money when they should be out working and making some cash, i figure that in the end all that extra schooling pays off, right? but then again what the hell do i know?

I want to try to get my hands on some free books. I was wondering if anyone knew what community colleges and universities do with textbooks they don't need. Do they sell them? Donate? Throw them away??

hi my best friend and i are gonna be seniors in high school this year and my friend just told me that he doesnt have alot of money for college. he is extremely smart. he's an honor student, he got an 1880 on the SAT on his first try(didnt even study), and he's in the science and tech program at school(a magnet program for really smart kids). he just told me that his parents dont have a college fund for him. they have a little bit, but not enough for 4 years. also, his parents are retiring when my friend gets outta high school so no more income.

we both wanna go to university of maryland college park. and yea he's a resident of maryland. so what can he do? he's an extremely smart kid and i dont wanna see my best friend's future go down the drain expecially when he's capable of doing so much

I have been out of High School for a year and plan on attending college in about 5 months. I have been accepted into a University as well as a State College here in my home state of Utah. My goal is to move to California (preferably UCLA or UC Irvine) in two years as a transfer student. Are my chances better as an undergraduate transfer from a University or are they better coming from just a State College? Thanks.

I'm wondering how hard it is to get into Ivy League or other top tier universities, such as Stanford, Berkeley, Duke, etc. for graduate school. It would be in psychology or a related field. Now I know it depends on the program and I need to do well in my undergraduate and get research experience and all that, but I want to hear from anyone who has, or knows anyone who has, gone into grad school at a top university, coming from a 'not so prestigious' university. The real "ins and outs" of the whole thing, not just admissions data. Thanks.

I currently am a junior at a small university in East Texas. I have a few research oriented courses under my belt and plan on attending either UNT, UT Arlington, or an Ivy League for my doctoral studies.

My question is, are areas such as career/personality or entrepreneurship viable topics for a professor of business? For my short college career, I've been really interesting in the individual and career selection and start up businesses/private businesses.

Organizational Behavior is a tertiary topic I also would like to dabble in. I've read various journals and abstracts on topics in Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Marketing, and they really bore me. I just don't have an interest in those fields. Another field that bores me is Operations Management.

Is there any hope to find something interesting with the topics I have listed above?

I'm starting college in a couple weeks, and I've gone over every "what to bring" list I can find, and I think I've got everything I need, but my question is: what's something that you never heard that you needed to bring but definitely came in handy in college?

I'm thinking about it but would like to know information from anyone who have already done it
