Hi,
I am pregnant and am 17 yrs old going to be 18.
I have always planned on college. And my boyfriend wants too as well.
Are there any colleges for people with kids?

I am planning on hopefully becoming an RN,or an NP.
And would like it near chicago but if not that is fine.
thanks.

people of all ages and circumstances go to college, if you mean a college where they have a daycare I'm not sure if there is any or not.

Some colleges have programs for young mothers that provide special housing. To get admitted to some of these programs though, you must have a competitive record.

If you are looking to be an RN you can get that degree/certification at many community colleges. The great thing about community colleges is that they can be so diverse. You will definitely run in to some young mothers there, as well as some older mothers.

Eastern Michigan University, in Ypsilanti, Michigan (just outside of Ann Arbor and Detroit) has a daycare center for students and faculty alike. They also have a GREAT RN program, and are far more affordable than many colleges in Michigan.
It is also about 4.5 hours from Chicago.

By the way, I applaud your commitment to a higher education. You are a credit to your generation.

Alot of colleges have housing for families. The stress of starting college and raising a baby may be tough. Maybe check out a community college for a semester or two to see how it goes. Alot of colleges also offer online classes.

Colleges around here have day-care/nurseries built in.
Even some high-schools are providing facilities.
The colleges are running early child-care courses too.
Chances are that those with nursing classes will too.
