really, a serious question. i think i'm spending so much time on the internet doing nothing productive (just surfing around) that it's really getting in the way of my academics.

how can i resolve this?

Does University of Florida have a good law school? For undergrads, wouldn't that be pre-law school? At least, that was the term they used in the Career Placement test thing we took today. I wanted to be a lawyer (I'm not sure what kind, exactly, I'm leaning toward a prosecuting attorney or corporate lawyer...but people say you don't really choose until you've been exposed to the different types of law), and the test said that might be what I'm good at, and then it gave me a list of colleges that they suggest attending, but UF wasn't on there. I've heard from teachers and family that it does have a good law school, even though it specializes in medicine, and it was a college I was interested in, since pursuing Harvard Law School seems to be shooting a little too high. Anyway, if you have any information, I would appreciate you sharing it!

My University gave me a second chance instead of dropping me they put me on academic probation. I went last semester and made no friends and failed 3 classes its time to make some serious changes. I want to make at least one good friend, participate more in class (although being a little shy inhibits me), and get straight A's this semester. Does anyone have any plans that can help me achieve these goals because apparently my way is not working?

Just had coffee with my Mom. She went back to college in her 50s now-she says the older male professors hate older women students who go back to college. She said one professor told her she would never get a job, even after she finishes her PhD because she is too old to be a professor and departments will view her as not being able to provide “longevity” in a college teaching career.

Do older male professors hate older female students who attend college?

I am about to start community college, and am already thinking ahead about transferring out to a better school. When transferring out to a competitive college (such as UVA, or UBC), typically how many credits does one need to have to be taken seriously?

It's a reach, but if I want to attend CU Denver's Pharmacy school, I have to have a 3.5 to even get an interview. I currently average 3.0 - 3.2 depending on which classes you average in (all my schools vs. only some)

I have 3 semesters left before I start applying, plus 2 summer semesters.

Hey, I was just wondering what my chance of getting into pharmacy school were with the stats that I have right now. I have a 3.5 average, I have volunteered and job shadowed in a pharmacy and also volunteered in a hospital. I haven't taken the PCAT yet, but I have been studying for it with different books. I got solid letters of recommendation - one from a pediatrician, one from a pharmacist, and one from an M.D. Anything else that I could do to improve my chances. What ya'll think????

I'm asking this because I am getting my BS in Legal studies through Kaplan University (online). While Kaplan University has campuses nation wide and are regionally accredited, a lot of people think that I am wasting my time and money on online classes. Do employers look down on potential employees for getting their degree online? What do you think? Only serious answers.

I'm going into college soon and still unsure of what I really want to do. I was considering going to Medical School and becoming a dermatologist. My only problem is that I don't like to dissect things. I heard that everyone that goes to Medical School has to dissect cadavers. Is this true? Thanks.
