Yes use your new skills in the work industry and pay off your debt to have the feeling of true freedom. You never know, you may end up with your own business and you will become a true adult!

I can see your point of view, but, from personal experience, I'd stick it out for the degree. Yeah, you'll have a bigger bill to pay when you graduate, but if you use your college wisely, and go somewhere where you are placed into a job upon graduation, you'll be very glad you stuck it out. My first degree program in a 4 year university had me working on a job as I was completing my Master's Degree, and by the time I got my Master's Degree in the mail (I don't go to graduations), I was surprised, remembering that I did actually go to college and didn't just work in this job for a long time. The second degree program was the same way, and in both situations I was surprised by the diploma in the mail since I was actually working for my employer as I was working on my degree, and "forgot" that I was actually in school and had worked my way into that position. I know it's in earnest that when one is where you are in school that we want so very much to get out and earn a living and minimize our bills, and you have to do what you have to do, BUT, if you can hang on, even though "the-going-gets-tough" with money and anxiety and all, you will DEFINITELY be better off with those pieces of paper we call diplomas on your wall, and mentioned in your resume. Best wishes to you. God Bless you.

Hi Maatt,

It all depends on the career you wish to embark on when you decide to leave academic education.

The difficulty of on-the-job learning is that it is only as good as the person teaching you. It will often only be applicable to the firm you are working for.

This is typical of many manufacturing firms where people have been in the same job for many years. Put them in a different environment and they are clueless.

You need qualifications that can be applied to different scenarios, this gives you the flexibility to adapt to different working environments.

You also have to remember that people with degrees will possibly be applying for the same vacancies as you. Who do you think has the edge?

Give your decision some careful thought and do what you think is best for you.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

It ultimately depends on your learning styles.
I think besides courses that specifically lead you to a specific qualification i.e. teaching, doctors, nurses, vets etc everything else is pretty useless.

I'm a Kinesthetic learner, which means i learn best through practical hand on experience. Learning on the job. i need to be constantly challenged otherwise i get bored.

I'm in my final year at uni and wish, really wish i hadn't bothered cos it's really not gonna make a difference. I have hardly any lectures, which OK is good, (final year, 8hrs worth of lectures), but for all that money? nahh.
