Hi,

i heard it's best to go for Masters right after college, because going after a break would be hard to get into the student mode again. that's why i'm exploring all the info that i'll need to know to make an informed desicion later on.

1) if you can, please tell me if its possible to get my Masters in less than 2 years?
2) also, do you think i can get a grant/sponsor to pay for the tuition, or am i on my own? (i'd like to go to an Ivy League school, most likely Columbia University)
3) and, how high my GPA should be when i apply?

thank you in advance

PS. right now, i'm double majoring, 1st major is Media and Communication Arts with specialization in Advertising and PR, and 2nd major is International Studies

I am in my second year at coventry uni (studying psychology and criminology) I hate the course, i've made no friends and am very depressed. I am almost 100% sure a degree will in no way help me get to where i want to be in life. if i leave i don't to work some low paying dead end job for the rest of my life, but if i stay i might just shoot myself. With so many people getting degrees (most of which from a better uni) is it really worth my time and effort?
thank you for taking the time to read this!

I was wondering if anyone knew which university is better in the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, etc...) or know which school has a higher percentage of students getting accepted to medical/dental school. I know Southwestern is known for being a liberal arts school but I'm not sure how strong they are in the sciences. If you could give suggestions or know of any links I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I do not know what to major in colleg. I attend a liberal arts college. I know that I should chose a career that I am passionate about and that money will follow later. As of now I am a Government major. I have changed my mind many time before. From pre-med. to architecture to pre-law to business major. I have taken time out of my life to think and reflect on my weaknesses and strengths. The probably is that I do not feel 100% passionate about a particular thing anymore.I dream BIG and wantto make a lot of money, because I want to give most of it to charity I have spoken to counsilors and what they tell me is to take personality tests, career tests, and makes lists of what I like and do like to do. All this is helpful, but still find myself changing my mind every day. I am 19years old. I know I'm young, but the sooner I organize my thoughts and have specific goals (not a broad goal of graduating from college) the sooner I will be close to being"successful" .

I from a small county in WV died recently and left $500K to the county chapter of the WVU alumni association. The chapter is already well funded and the community is in near ruin. Just for the sake of arguement, do you view this gift as thoughtful or misplaced? My view is that with all the other needs of the community, why throw money into an organization that helps only a few. Only about 1% of kids that go to college ever come back to live there.

i've been waiting for my grades to come in the mail for a week. I got fed up and remembered i could check my grades online, so i did. When I looked, one class said I had failed, which i didn't think was possible judging on the fact that i only got Bs and Cs in that class, unless i totally bombed the final, which i know i did well on. In my other class it said i had no credits. i have no idea how that's possible, because i my teacher said she couldn't find some of my work, so i rewrote three papers for her, not to mention all the classwork i had already done. So i'm just really nervous because my mom is REALLY strict, and i feel really bad, because that's a lot of money that had to be spent, and the results aren't even good. it just really sucks because i did so well in all my other classes. if anyone has any ideas on what i should do, please let me know. thanks.
