I'm applying for a memorial scholarship in honor of this woman Patricia McNamara who overcame personal obstacles to acheive her education, ect ect.
So, the topic of the scholarship essay is:
"In 1000 words or less, define diversity in your own words, and give a personal account of how it has positively or negatively affected your life".
Well...I want to write the essay on my own personal experience of living life as a transsexual person. I've gotten mixed opinions on this though. The scholarship is NOT for admission to the college, I've already been accepted, and it's from a private organization that is not known to be a religious or politically affiliated organization. So...what should I do? Because I think talking about transsexual in conjuction with diversity is pretty much hitting the nail on the head.
