i'm already in the army national guard and i was wondering if when i start college in the fall i could join the Army ROTC and receive a monthly stipend. or, do i not get a stipend until junior/senior year?

i do plan on applying for the rotc program and as well as smp. i was just wondering if i could actually do that as a freshman. if so, then i would have no problem being accepted. i have an excellent academic record and no scratched on my military record.

You'd get the stipend starting as a freshman however my understanding of the ROTC program is you have to do this general application for ROTC scholarship (which includes the college tuition and your monthly stipends). I don't know how it would work if you just walk up and say 'hey, I wanna do ROTC'

Talk to the CSM Cadet of your the ROTC Program that you want to go into. Either that or talk to the CO of the ROTC unit.

I am not sure if you can do NG and ROTC at the same time, but I would hope they would want you to.
