Without a visual diagram that is labeled, it is next to impossible to answer....but the use of exchange allows for the development of specialization that is impossible in a self-sufficient culture. This allows not only for technological advancements in whole orders of magnitude, but a specialist, because of the accumulation of tools and skills, can, by himself, produce far more of his special product in a work week than any self sufficient culture person could hope to. This principle is the foundation of western industrialization and is what enables it to produce so much per person. Perhaps this will help you to be able to extrapolate an answer according to whatever graph you are looking at.
