My name is Jessica. I am going to begin college this early fall. I am going for either Buisness or Phycology. I will be taking my first two general years at a tech. school and then transfering to a near by University. I always hated having to read aloud in class and give big speeches every other friday in history class. I was just wondering if College is like Highschool. Do you have to read your term papers to the class and read the text outloud in courses? I am the first out of my family to go to college and almost all of my friends are in Beauty School or taking mechanic courses. So, they can't really tell me. Thank's for answering!
By the way, does anyone know of a good vocabulary builder book or something I can use to help me improve my vocabulary? I suck at it. I am a mathmatics girl,nothing more.

Which do you think is better when you first start college: going to a dorm or staying at home? Because I remember a few months ago my teacher telling a group of girls that those who went to dormitories benefit more than those who stay home for developmental reasons,etc.

So if the application is due Dec.15th, and I'm not applying for enterance scholarships or any other kind of scholarship/grant, how early do I need to submit my application? Do they really care if you submit it early or do they assess all applications that arrived by Dec.15th equally?

I am a freshman in College, and have just completed my first semester. I am currently on Winter Break, and loving each and every minute of it. The problem is....I can't seem to get into the whole "College thing". First of all, this is the first time I have ever moved away from home (about 2 and 1/2 ohurs away), and I miss my family. My mom and I are very tight knit, and I really miss it. I also am having dorm troubles. I have two roommates, one thta plays video games 24/7, and one that is never there. I can't get much sleep, and I am the kind of person who values my sleep. Truthfully, I think that I owuld do better if I had my own room ( which is possibl,e but waaaay to expensive). So, the question is for those who have gone to College and lived in a dorm....does it get better?
