What do you mean by America?

If you mean the USA, then Harvard is the oldest and The College of William and Mary is the second oldest.

If you mean "America" -- then the oldest is in the Dominican Republic:

Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo, 1538

The second oldest is in Argentina:

Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, 1610

If you mean North America, then you have to go to Mexico:

National Autonomous University of Mexico, 1551

The oldest Canadian university is:

Université Laval, 1663
