I'm so proud of myself . I was one of the 23 out of 200+ students accepted. Now, I'm so scared, I just keep thinking I will not do well. I have more people telling me how hard it's going to be then I have congradulating me! I feel so down when I should be so happy. I start on Janurary 8, any tips on how to remain calm and positive??

I have been teaching English in South America for the past few years and really enjoy working with the students, living abroad, and almost every aspect of the ESL life. My dream is to teach at a foreign university, but I dont know if I should go for a Masters in ESL or Adult Education. Or would I need a PhD, and if so, in what field? Thanks in advance.

I was originally going to go with computer science for programming but I would really rather go for the path of design instead. Unfortunately I haven't found much reference for this field, and thus I don't know what major I should choose.

I know that traditionally law schools look for political science, philosophy, economics, etc. majors and that they don't view criminal justice as a rigorous enough degree. I am majoring in criminal justice and after graduating would maybe like to go into law enforcement (police work) and maybe juvenile or adult probation to start out in the CJ field. Another interest has been law school but with a CJ major I may be at a disadvantage because CJ isn't always viewed as very prestigious. My school has a Pre Law program with many Political Science and Philosophy courses related to law. Would going through this Pre Law program, along with a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice increase the chances of law school acceptance with a CJ degree? Anyone out there get accepeted into law school with a Criminal Justice degree?

I speak French fluently and I am the first person in my family to go to college. I have a weighted GPA of 4.12 academic GPA 3.7 . By the end of my senior I would have taken 13 exams passing 7 exams. I was the president of the French club and this year I am the president of the European Club. I played in the advanced Jazz band my junior year only because it was difficult( I played the piano). I took two other foreign languages at school. spanish 1-2,3-4,AP Language, this year AP Span lit.(only non-native in class), also took german 7-8 got a B both semesters(studied a lot over the summer). Language and music are my hobbies. However I was not in sports. I have a lot SAT of 1630 and ACT composite 23. I did 50 hours community service. Volunteered 150 hours as teacher's aide and outside work. I also went to Long Beach City college in the summer of my sophmore year to take Intermediate Algebra and Spanish 3. As a result I am in AP Span Lit and AP Calc this year. So will I be accepted ?

Can I expect that I am automatically considered for aid, or must one apply for specific scholarships to receive aid?
If I am a very competitive applicant, is it reasonable to assume that a letter of acceptance in response to a basic application might automatically include some sort of aid as an enticement?

More info: I am applying to public policy and international development MA programs, including Harvard, Brandeis, Syracuse and Tufts.

I am graduating from high school next year and I really want to go to UCLA or a similar university but my high school GPA is really low.

I am thinking that I may need to go to a junior college first and then transfer but I don't know what my options are. I'd really like to go to a full university in California starting next fall.

Can anybody tell me who could help me figure out what my options are? Is there anybody that can please help me with this very complicated and overwhelming process before it's too late for me?

I have two essays that are around 300 words each. I have read them numerous times, but I am not the best at grammar. I am a transfer student applying for entrance into the college of engineering at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Texas A&M College Station. If anybody is willing to read these and make suggestions on the structure and grammar in these essays please post your e-mail here and I will forward you the topic and essays.

My essay that I'm supposed to be writing for Plymouth State University is "write an essay about a personal achievement that has special meaning to you."

I've chosen to write about the first television show I ever produced getting aired on our local station, but my question is, is it alright to use personal pronouns for this essay? I only ask because one of my english teachers always has us write opinion essays without personal pronouns (ew). So, do you think I can use them for this or not?

Also, if anyone has any ideas on an introductory paragraph, that would be helpful cuz I'm stuck. Thanks.

- Personal pronouns -> I, me, you, etc...
