I am the first and only person in my entire extended family to apply, get accepted, and register for college. I know my mom wants to help but she is clueless and does not know where to begin. I already know the basic things I will need when I leave in August, but what are some things you found useful, but never thought of taking in the first place when living on campus?

...big time. i was moving out of my apartment and came across several boxes with all of my old schoolwork saved from 4 years of college. my sister convinced me to get rid of it since i hadnt looked at any of it in the last couple of years, but now i feel like ive thrown away an important part of my life and i can't seem to get over it.

most of it was old hw assignments and tests, which i admit is pretty useless now, but i still would've liked to have kept them if only for their sentimental value.

it seemed like a good idea to recycle the papers at the time, since i was also throwing out a bunch of unnecessary clutter (old magazines, etc...) but i guess i was just in a 'cleaning mode' and not really thinking clearly.

has anyone else done the same thing and regretted it? or am i the only one who bothered keeping my schoolwork in the first place, like my sister claims?

In your opinion backed with facts or statistics please, which is better, as in salary potential, emotional liking of what you will be doing as a career, and chances of getting a job once graduating. . Anything else, between getting a masters in business administration or a masters in psychology?

During your med school days when you were in the operating theater learning gross anatomy and this guy was being cut up rather nonchalantly by your professor, did you ever feel like throwing up or blacking out? Do you get over that fast?

I need help on deciding a major. I am a sophomore now at a community college, planning to transfer to University of South Alabama. I know it should be my own decision, but I don't know what each one entails. Could you tell me about your major or other majors you know of and what jobs they could lead to? I like to help others, I speak Spanish almost fluently, and I hate math and science. Also I love music. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I am currently going into my senior year of college. I am studying to become a high school history teacher. After graduation in May 2007, I plan to continue on and get my masters in special education. I will then graduate with that May 2008. I then wanted to continue going to school for another certification.

I was either considering something with economics, busniess, or accounting. Maybe even get certified to teach math. What would be the best thing to take? I want to be certified as much as possible. I just can't decide what would be something good to get certified in. Anyone know? Thanks!!
