Laptop notebook - to write papers and take notes in class
Day planner or PDA - to remind you when papers are due, when you have social events, and for classmates phone #'s
Clean sheets - several sets so you don't have to sleep on a nasty matress (assuming you're sleeping at college and not commuting)
Flip flops for the shower - showers are disgusting
Lots of coffee - to stay awake while studying or writing a paper
Cell phone - to call home and let them know you're alive and to ask mom and dad for money

Bring lots of pens. They disappear.
Bring a computer of some kind. You don't need a laptop, but make sure you have your own computer and backup disks.
Bring plenty of paper for printing off your work.
Bring lots of change for parking meters, laundry, etc.
Make sure you have a working email address that you check often, and make sure that you know proper email etiquette for communicating with professors.
Most of all, bring an open mind and a desire to learn - NOT just a desire to get a degree. You'll be surprised what opportunities an open mind will bring you.

Pj's you can answer the door in, a plastic glass, tylenol, mouthwash(a small bottle for sleep overs), condoms, and one of those gel masks for your eyes that you put in the fridge... Have Fun!!!
