I need help on deciding a major. I am a sophomore now at a community college, planning to transfer to University of South Alabama. I know it should be my own decision, but I don't know what each one entails. Could you tell me about your major or other majors you know of and what jobs they could lead to? I like to help others, I speak Spanish almost fluently, and I hate math and science. Also I love music. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Use the "Occupational Outlook Handbook" online or at a local library, college, or university. It's by the US Dept Of Labor. It shows countless careers, the education needed, and the expected growth or decline of the career. This is a great tool! Hope this helps.

I'm a Psychology major (for now anyway). I was pre-med but I decided I didn't want to do all the chemistry courses that pre-med entailed. I think since you don't like Math or Science and the fact that you like to help people, majoring in Psychology or Social Work might suit you. The fact that you can speak Spanish helps alot especially if you become a Social Worker. Just beware that you can't do much with a Bachelors in Pysch so you'll need to go to grad school. I'm considering School Psychology for a grad program.

I studied Chemical Engineering and Business Economics in school, but if you can speak Spanish you should go into Business Administration. Then apply for a job with a construction company and make sure to note every chance you get that you can speak Spanish fluently (many of the Spanish construction workers at my plant can not speak English).

I was a chemistry major and I chose it cuz I liked science. You hate science so dont go there. Choose something in the arts and since you speak spanish, an area where a foreign langauge might prove useful. Try talking toi a career counsellor. Make sure you end up with something you like and are good at

I am a graphic design major. You don't have to be an artist to do it, and it's a lot more interesting than accounting. Jobs pay about 25-35k to start, and can be great segways into other careers like advertising or fashion. And it doesn't involve my two most hated subjects also, Math and Science. Good Luck.
