I need a loan for my last semester, and cannot use FAFSA or recieve scholorships. I only need 3 classes, but my GPA is low and I have bad credit. Any ideas on how to quickly find a loan? I have no cosigner, so anything that requires that is out. Thanks!

is there anything us youth can do to stop this before our children have no option but to skip out on higher education because it is too much money. Scholarships are alot harder to get than people think. If you are just a normal student, you will not get a scholarship... what can we do?

It seems like all you doing is college is studying all the time, which I know is important, but can you have a good time and get your fun too at the same time. Any experiences thanks.

I want to study international business and trade law - I have two undergrad degrees (Int'l studies and Spanish lit)... I REALLY want to go back and get this degree... I've taken an 2 year break to experience the working world. My undergrad was taken for entirely by scholarships provided by the state of Louisiana... How do student loans work? What are the best to get? Is it possible to take out the $150,000 that this is going to cost!? That seems crazy... Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thx...

My parents and I had a fight of sorts, and now I have to learn to be independent. I'm a sophomore at Maryland Inst College of Art, and my parents have been paying for everything - til now. Please give me some advice as to what I should do now? How would I change my status as a dependent to an independent student, and is there anything else I might have to worry about (like taxes, the IRS, etc)? Any advice on student loans? I'm also trying to find as many jobs as I can to start saving up money. Thanks guys!

Was wondering if anyone had any information about web sites, or coorperations that will donate money to schools to help with physical education funds. Building a running track, sports equiptment, money to hire physical education teachers. We need to get our kids motivated to keep fit. We don't want a generation of chubby kids that will have to live with it for the rest of their lives. We want to help our kids. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It's ridiculous how much these colleges are charging, I honestly think, but my kids want to go.

If you got money from the school and your kid is not an athletic, music or academic scholar...how did you do it if you are middle class? It's like they want me to sell my house and use all the equity to pay for college...again ridiculous.

I don't want to saddle my kids with $150,000 of student loans. I know a colleague who is 8 years out of college and still paying his..that's absurd. You need to be able to save for a home, for "rainy day illnesses or retirement" etc and you can't if your money is going towards old student loans.

The private scholarships that aren't tied to sports, music or academics all seem relatively small, like $500. We'd need like 25 of them to get anywhere. And it's hard if your kid hasn't done anything to "stand out".

I've got one who is still a sophomore..maybe I can do better by him if i start earlier???

Your experienced tips?

thanks

I'm a junior in high school, about to become a senior. Currently, I'm number one in my class with a 102.3 weighted GPA. I attend a very small high school in Mississippi, and there will probably be only 100 or so students graduating in my class. I would really like to attend a college in Florida and I made a 26 on my ACT. My questions are: 1) How do I begin to file for any kind of scholarship? 2) What colleges in Florida are good for degrees in creative writing? 3) If I get a scholarship to a college do I have to attend that college? and 4) Do I really need two years of a foreign language to attend a college? (I plan on taking physics and AP chemistry instead, will this be good enough?) Any other help regarding college information would be extremely useful. Oh, and I would have asked my counselors about all of this, but my counselors are complete idiots. Thanks so much; I really appreciate it!

I really want to go back to school full time so I can get my degree. But I am single with two kids. What assitance is out there to help make this possible. Becasue at the rate I am going working full time with overtime. I am never going to finish. I am estimating it will only take a year and a half if I go back full time.
