I am a tranfer student, and got in to UCLA.
Sadly, i did not know about the FAFSA program, and missed the deadline to turn the form in.

Can i still turn that in? The reason why I am asking this question is that I want to get grants (ex. Cal grants) and they all require me to fill out the FAFSA by march whcih means i already missed the deadline.

I heard that if i apply right now, i only get student loans.
but what about the grants?
can i still be eligible?

This cost $19.99. I was wondering if anyone has paid for it and has an opinion or perhaps you know someone who has. I'm looking for grant or scholarship money for my daughter who is going to college next year.

I had scholarships, but my GPA sucks this semester. My family can't afford to pay, and I've never applied for loans before. I don't think my parents credit is very good. Will I even qualify for a loan? How do I apply for one? How much can I borrow?

It's that time. College planning time. My senior year in high school is right around the corner and I am becoming worried about how prepared I am. My main problem right now is that my mother wants me to stay home and go to a college that is close to my home. I would like to travel, stay in state but just far enough away I need a dorm. What do I do? She is going on and on about money and how we will afford stuff, and we aren't dirt bag poor either...we are in the middle class with a nice sized house. Do I set out on my own and get scholarships and then go up to her and be like "here is all the money we need." or do i persuade her that i feel that traveling to a college a bit further away is ok for me??? HELP! (Also, anyone with awesome scholarship info, please let me know.)

On my credit report I have like 8 or more loans and it looks horrible. It says their all in good standing, but I still cannot get anything such as credit cards, because of the loans. So I figured if I consolidate it would look so much better. Can someone explain to me in laymen terms about consolidating.

Hello.
So far I've decided that the pros to a college dorm are:
*being more active on campus
*able to make more friends
*save on gas money
*feel more independant.

The cons to a college dorm so far are:
*more expensive
*not able to see my friends from my hometown as often
*having to share a room with a stranger.

I'd appreciate any feedback, keeping in mind that I only live about an hour or so away from campus anyways, depending on the traffic at the time. Thank you so much!

I am Sophomore Class President. I need to generate about $2000 in the next couple months. I have about 30-40 people to work with and like $500 in our account. What are some good fundraisers we could do to generate a lot of money?

I don't think we can sell candy because of the new law against that...

I'm trying to be compromising here with my dad but he won't budge. I want to move out and live out my college life however he insists that I stay at home but I feel conflicted since I'm worried about getting into debt but also feel that living on my own will make me more academically productive. If I live at home I would have to tolerate my mom's crazy shoutings, my brother's pyschotic rants and the distracting environment, plus its usually cold here since we're not allowed to turn on the heater. As you can imagine, its hard to study or do homework here. If I live at college, I wouldn't have to deal with those issues and just arrange my own living schedule.

What I'm asking here is for some suggestions. I know that I'll get further into debt and my dad is pressing for me to stay. I've calculated all of my 5 year expenses and I've averaged out to about $117,000. What kind of a loan plan should I apply for? What are the options do you think I have left?

I plan on attending college in the state where my parents live. I was wondering if I need to get a driver's license for that state to avoid paying out-of-state fees for school. As we all know getting a new driver's license is cheaper than paying out-of-state fees for college. So should I get a new license to avoid out-of-state fees?

Estimated Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan $1,750 for fall 07 and spring 08

Estimated Federal Parent Loan for Undergrads $ 4,776 for fall 07 and spring 08

Estimate B-On-Time Loan $2,585 for fall 07 and spring 08

Those are the three loans I have been offered. I am going into the field of pharmacy so it will take at least 6 yrs for me to graduate. I only received $1,227 in grants (per semester) which to me kinda sucks. My efc is about $6246. I have to make my decision on whether to accept or reject these loans by tonight. I really didnt want to take these loans but now I am feeling that I have to because I didnt get as many scholarships as I wanted :( If you have any suggestions please share because I'ma stressing about this. Your input is appreciated.

I have a question about student loans consolidation. I am going to finish my undergrad this summer and going to graduate school this fall, should I consolidate my loans now or after graduate school (3 years from now)? I am getting a lot of mail and phone calls from these company and I was just wondering if it was a wise decision to consolidate now? I have about 16,000 in debt from undergrad, and after graduate school, the total will be about 100,000. Thanks!!!!!!!!
