You do not receive money in hand. The funds are awarded through your college first to pay your charges and then a refund, if any, is made to you, but not usually until mid-semester in the fall--think November. So, the questions to you are this:

How long ago did you file your FAFSA? If its less than 6 weeks ago, you are probably in the school's awarding queue and are waiting your turn to be awarded. If it's more than 6 weeks, call the financial aid office and ask about it.

Were you selected for verification? Read your SAR again. If you were and have not yet submitted the required information, nothing will happen until you do.

Are you admitted to a degree or eligible certificate program at your college yet? If you haven't filed for admission they may not review your file until you are accepted since you must be admitted to get aid.

A 1495 EFC indicates that you are eligible for a Pell Grant and possibly other federal and state grant money as well. You will probably receive sufficient grant funds to cover tuition, fees, and books, but if you need funds for living expenses your school may require you to take a loan.

You do not get the money directly because the federal government pays the school directly for your grant. If there is money left over, you will get paid. You will know the exact amount and the break down of the help you receive from the college's student financial aid report sometime soon. I will list some free resources to locate more free money to attend school in case there are some student loans.

First, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too.

Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.

Third, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships and state scholarships & grants.

Fourth, a campus work study job can help with money needed during the school year. The program is funded by the federal government. It will be a job on campus and most times can work to your availability schedule. There should be a box on the FAFSA form for it.

Fifth, fill out the FAFSA form after January 1 of your senior year of high school. It will qualify her for need based financial aid from the federal government and the school itself. It will come in the form of scholarships, Pell Grant, student loans, and the work study program.

Sixth, study and practice for the SAT or ACT tests. It can help bring merit scholarships from the college itself.

Seventh, states do offer grant and scholarships for students with excellent grades. Search Google.com and Yahoo.com for these grants and scholarships with your state's name.

Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.

Good luck!

if your EFC is 1495 that is how much you will have to pay before FA will pay. So anything after that FA will pay. Make sure your school received your FASFA and that you have applied for that school. You don't get the money end hand ever. It is sent to the school directly and if there's change you get that.

I now have a lab and that i chosen him specifically for the breed in accordance to my previous journey. The canine I had in the previous him grow to be a lab and he grow to be a perfect canine. He befell to be a stray that confirmed up at my residing house and after weeks of looking for his proprietor I claimed him as my own. He grew to grow to be out to be between the perfect canine I ever owned. He grow to be stolen about 3 years in the past. I ignored him a lot I had to get yet another canine. I had the type of straight forward time including his practise, habit, and so on. that i determined i might want to keep on with a similar breed. I agree that a lot of human beings "imagine" that labs are the perfect. it extremely is per chance why there are such loads of of them in shelters. (and through over breeding). some human beings get a lab without determining that he/she will be able of want an fantastic volume of exercising, will likely chew through walls if given the possibility, will shed 12 months round, will scouse borrow your food if no longer experienced perfect, and could finally replace into those enormous paws that look so lovable as a puppy.
