Usually grants are given for students of higher learning. Not third graders. If it is for a private school it's up to you to provide the money not the taxpayers. If for some reason you live in a remote area then the state must provide a teacher for your child. If that distance is to far for the child to travel then the teacher must live on or near your property. Examples of this would be in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado anywhere that has "The wide open spaces".
The grants also are money contributions to the schools to provide necessary equipment. Not individual students.

Are you talking about a private school? Are you looking for help with supplies and other expenses for public school? If you can include more information, it would help getting a good answer. Generally, there is little in the way of financial help for education that is available for free.
