I am 22. Just got accepted to my dream college. I want to borrow 35,000 a year for two years, probably a private student loan.

I have no credit. My parents have bad credit....

I was thinking a Grandparent...but, does the cosigner still need to have an income? All of my Grandparents are retired.

Please send me suggestions! Thanks.

Also, any sites for loans would be great!

but any ways, even after the student loan i got from fasfa i still need $10,000, my credit isnt good because of somiin that happen to me in washington mutual, there sayin i owe them money which is impossibile but im havin a lawyer involved in that right now, but my mother and i got approved for the loan but she wont sign them, im tryin to explain to her that i can pay the little $150 a month my loan is goin to be to pay back the loan for 10 years after i graduate, plus i have another bank account with bank of america now so i have a place to save money, but she wont do it, and i need this loan to live on campus and livin at home isnt an option, what should i do?

I'm wanting to go to college and I am disabled I was wondering, Whould the FAFSA count me as an independent student even though I'm only 22 but disabled. It says on the fafsa form you have to be 24 or married or if you have a special or unusaual circumstance. DOES ANY ONE KNOW?

I live on my own and do not receive financial help from my parents. What do I have to do to apply with FAFSA if I am an independent, 22 paying his own way?

Are there any resources where you can apply for a government grant with out having to pay money for a cd, or what ever. All these online deals are out to get your money.

There is a reputable small preschool that needs help to survive in order to continue its service. It is at a temporary slump due to extreme competition. It is a waste for this preschool to be closed.

Just doing the math for my daughter's first 4 years of higher education and thinking... WOW, how are we going to do this? We haven't even been able to buy a house yet! Not looking for smart @$$ remarks, just sympathy I guess... or real offers (I know, yeah right) I am looking into scholarships, etc. My main problem is that we are in the lower end of what is still considered middle income and it astounds me what they think we can or should be able to afford. They don't take into account all of a family's other expenses! I don't think these amounts have been adjusted for cost of living in quite some time (gas and grocery increases?!) Saving money has not been an option since we already live by the skin of our teeth to stay in the school district we live in which we think is important. Real words of advice or encouragement? Our oldest has an A/B average. Not the top of the class, but ok.

Just out of curiosity...as a financial aid administrator I am astounded by the number of serious questions posed here (over and over again, I might add). What can we do to make information more accessible to students/parents? Serious answers only please.

I was wondering, had anyone heard of this, or has done it. I'm trying to go to college and need all the help I can get. I heard grants were pretty helpful so I was wondering before I pay my money for this, is it worth it. The site is ultimategrantssecrets.com Also, and if not this one, are there any other good sites that offers help with grants and so forth. Thanks

Has anyone filled out the forms and left out the father's information? Is his financial information necessary since I know it will be my son and I paying off the loans? My son is a good student and hard worker. He has saved all his summer job money to date. Thanks for your thoughts.

I know a lot of businesses, like the ones that sponsor schools and teams, also offer small scholarships, but those kinds of scholaships don't come up in a web search, or on engines like fastweb. Where can I go to find what scholarships are offered exclusively to the local community? (I live in Reno, but there must be somewhere common in all cities to look for this stuff)
ONLY PERSONS WHO HAVE ACTUALLY FOUND AND RECEIVED LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS NEED ANSWER, PLEASE.

Okay, here's the deal I'm pushing 30, have little to no income. and no kids. I'm thinking of joining the navy or going to a community college, but I want to go to college regardless. The financial aid and aquiring grants seem to confuse me some. I've been told, for someone like me(little to no income, late 20's), can pretty much go tho college for free. How exactly do I go about doing this? Should I go for a Pell Grant or some other grant? I assume I need to fill out a FAFSA before I can be considered for any grant of any kind? I'm getting desperate/ left behind here and I don't think I want to join the navy if I can go to college for next to nothing Right now.
Hey, thanks for your time and help!!...It's starting to get a little pathetic here lol. And please just don't tell me to just surf the web for grants-tell me which ones I need to look for please.

I have a feeling that's why my EFC is 5902... which is nearly ALL of my income.

My family won't be helping me at all, and I'll be working less... but there is no way to tell FAFSA that I don't have parent help. If I don't enter any information, they don't let me continue, and there's no option saying that I'm on my own, is there?

I haven't lived with my parents for years now, and they don't aid me in any way. So why should their income lessen my chances of success?

I've already tried fastweb and a bunch of other places, but none seem to help with living expenses. Where should I go? I would be willing to write an essay, if required.
