but I need a credit card to support me in my studies.

I've got convictions for drugs and ive tryed to go on line to FAFSA to apply for student aid. Dont make no sense to me that they dont want people to commit crimes but they wont give you any help to better yourself. THATS the main reason alot people continue the same ole sh*t. you can say IM MAKING xcuses but if you were to listen to ALOT of people in my shoes they say the same. HOW CAN I GET DIRECTION TO OVER COME THESE ROAD BLOCKS?.......SERIOUSLY ASKING ......i want to become a honest member of sociaty .THANKS.

I talked to the the adivisor at the community college I want to go and since I'm under 23, not married and have no kids I need the 2006 tax returns of my parents. My mother hasn't worked in about 5 years living off her bf and his family and he was a drug dealer.(nice right) My father....I have never lived with him and he has never claimed me on his tax and his returns would not help me, so he says. I am 18, GED recipient and I really want to go to college, where else can I get the money?

I want to go to college and I dont want to stay in dorms. Is there a way I can get a school loan that would pay for an apartment and bills and also school, since I would not be able to work if im going full time? I also have little credit and what I do have is bad. My parents would probably co sign though

I need a student loan before I can continue on to my second year of college and I don't have a good enough job to just pay for it out of my pocket, but my credit is not good enough for me to not need a cosigner. If anyone knows of a place where I could get a student loan that would be fantastic, please let me know!!!

OKAY IM A SOON TO GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR. I WANT TO ATTEND ASU (ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY), I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. ASU HAS BEEN MY DREAM SCHOOL SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL. BUT EVER SINCE I FOUND OUT I AM PUT UNDER NONRESIDENT TUITION. MY TUITION WILL COST A BIT MORE THAN ABOUT 24,000 DOLLARS! yikes!

ALTHOUGH MY EFC IS ABOUT 6,000, MY PARENTS ARE STILL NOT GOING TO CONTRIBUTE ANYTHING.

PUT IT THIS WAY, I HAVE TO DO IT ON MY OWN. BUT I CAN'T GET MANY SCHOLARSHIPS BECAUSE OF MY PARENTS INCOME!

ANY HELP?

AND ASU ISN'T BEING MUCH OF A SUPPORT EITHER.

AND I'M NOT GOING TO COMMUNITY COLLEGE, NOT STAYING IN CALIFORNIA FOR COLLEGE, I ALREADY DECLINED ALL THE OTHER 7-8 SCHOOLS I GOT INTO. INCLUDING BERKELEY!!!!

I MEAN I HAVE A 4.50 GPA. BUT THE WHOLE PARENTS INCOME!
DRIVES ME NUTS.

I am from India it is correct. I am going to US for study and as such sending me money in India does not arise. The money has to be paid to my university on my behalf. I have already explained my point in earlier question. Please refer to this. You will see me personally at US and then pay the amount and as such calling me scam from India is unfortunate.

Since our house is mortgaged I am not able to raise loan.2nd Mortg is not allowed by banks.Old father is housed so no sale possible.50,000US$ is the estimated limit. If I get an opportunity to earn and study or I get scholarship after 1st sem loan will not be required. Further my sis is in US doing Phd in US in collaboration with Indo-us and is on the final lap of her PhD. Once she completes she has offers in hand in US.SO by all probability I may need only two sem money as loan. 1st sem I am having ready and 4th sem my sis will pay. Once I complete MS I will get a big hike in salary here in India and will be eligible to a loan equivalent to 50000US$.I plan to use this to repay the loan. Once agreed I will provide registered legal right to the full satisfaction of the lender. SO NO SCAM HERE.

Help! I need advice on how to be able to finish school but I cant afford to do so. I have applied for financial aid but they have denied me every time stating i make to much money but belive me i do not. I even went to a community college and recived my associates because I could not afford it and it took me for ever because I could only afford to take a couple of classes at time because i was paying out of pocket now I have applied to UHD and i am worried it will take me forever and i might not even afford to go at all please help please any advice

I got my "award letter" from my school yesterday, and I was denied any grants. I am about to be 18 in a couple weeks, and will be leaving my mom's house, and will have little to no financial help from her or other family members.
I had to use her tax information to fill it out, because technically i am still her dependant.
My mom is unable to help me pay for much, her income is very low (less than 20,000) and I am working only part-time. So basically I will have no money for school, unless I take out a loan, which I would like to do as a last resort.
I did apply for some scholarships, but many were need-based, and will also use those same FAFSA results.

Last year I was awarded more than enough to pay for school. My income did not change, and my moms went up less than 1,000. which is not enough to cover school.
is there any action i can take to have my application re-evaluated with out using my mom's financial information?

And as far as college goes I haven't taken the ACT or signed up for financial AID. I can't afford to go without financial aid. Also I have no Drivers lisence, no permit, and no car.

Was planning to goto school, I'm 35, waited 6 mo. to get my student loan outof default. Hubby is working on getting SSI for his panic and is unable to work (not sure if we will ever get it). Our in-laws were willing to support & still say they are, they want to see hubby taken care of.

Time has passed, when I have asked for some financial 'help' they whine and complain & somehow only manage to give half of what we need. Which is fine, that is their perogative. I have only asked when it was truly their help or bust (like power going off & car repairs).

My question is should I go to school (I wanted to be a teacher)? Have decent job now, make about $400 per week and benefits (hubby needs dr visits). I can get this sort of job on a pretty regular basis (I hope, I had a hard time six months ago which is what started all this). I don't think I can do both work and school, I work 40 hours++ (sometimes) & there is nothing I can cut from my budget (no cable or cell or car payments asis).

Im moving to a new state. And Im getting financial aid. I received financial aid at my previous school. My question is....my lender for my previous schoool is Sallie Mae, but if my new school doesnt have Sallie Mae as a lender...do i have to pay sallie mae back for the loans I took out??? or do I pay after I graduate after I graduate.?
