I've already tried fastweb and a bunch of other places, but none seem to help with living expenses. Where should I go? I would be willing to write an essay, if required.

Sometimes getting money for living expenses is as easy as asking for additional loans. Do you already get Stafford loans? Does your cost of attendance include rent, books, travel, misc? If it doesn't ask your financial aid office to include it. Then, see if you are eligible for federal loans. If you're under 24, not married and do not have a child (children) than you may have some difficulty because you'll be considered a dependent and the bulk of your expenses fall to your parents. If you're over 24 or are married with or without kids, then you are entitled to borrow up to your cost of attendence. You may have to be taking at least half time (6) credits or more to have living expenses included in your cost of attendance. Talk to your finanical aid office and ask about borrowing more money. If you're only looking for grants, then I think you'll have a very tough time. Fastweb lists tons of scholarships but I don't know of one person who's actually received one from the sites listed there. Good Luck!

the best way to help you with your living expenses is for you to get a job..... Many people go to school and work at the same time. If you get a job near a campus, the employer will usually work around your school schedule. I went to school full time, worked a full time job and raised 5 kids. I did this by myself, and I know if I can do it, so can you!!!!!!!!
