I've been accepted to ULM, University of Louisiana at Monroe, but I REALLY want to be at USC. I live in NC right now and I've never been to Louisiana and I don't want to go. At first I did but that was before I actually did research on it. I live in a booming city (Charlotte) and I don't want to be in a small town which I believe is Monroe. Sc is only an hour away compared to 11 hours and its a big BEAUTIFUL school. The only thing is...money. She's pushing Louisiana because it's very cheap...$8,000 to be exact and SC is maybe around $23,000. We're not eligible for financial aid, apparently they said we make too much money so we've been taking out loans. I don't mind taking out more loans to pay for my education especially when considering my major which is Pharmacy. Are there any scholarships or grants I can use or anything. I really want to go to this school!!!

I have applied for many scholarships, by using different websites (fastweb, scholarship.com), but I am coming up empty handed. Is there any other site, or way to obtain a scholarship?

I have been getting loans through school, but my grades have taken a dive. I am a hurricane Katrina survivor and trying to deal with how my life has changed. Anyway, I am still in school, but now the school says they can't give me more loans until my grades improve. I can't go to school without loans! So, does anyone know who or where I can get loans for school when my grades aren't that great. And by not that great, I mean I have been getting C's and a D. Thanks.

I am trying to go back to school and is trying my best to find as much "free money" as possible so I have less to pay in student loans. Problem is that all the scholarships I see is for students fresh out of high school. If it can be prevented, I would like to find as many as possible that I will not have to write a novel (just being sarcastic..lol) just to even be considered to getting the scholarship, then be upset that if I dont get it cause I would feel like it was a waste of my time. Any help is much appreciated.

I'm a working, single mother and wanting to go back to college. I can't afford the expenses and I looked into FAFSA and was told that I would have to attend full time to receive a pell grant. I can't go full time due to my job and my child. Does anyone know of any resources that I can check into that might be able to help me or at least point me in the right direction on getting some help with the expenses?

I was told nursing school is almost impossible to do and work. Does anyone know any student loans that allow you to go to school and pay them back later. I know alot of the loans let you do that for school things. I am looking for one that allows me to use them for living expenses as well. Any ideas will help.

I have researched as much as possible and come up very short. I am 24, single and have no children. I am having a very difficult time finding money to pay for school because I am also working full time. I have been recently declared independent although I have lived in a separate state from my parents since I was 19; they have also decided to be great parents and not help me AT ALL. Any ideas that don't consist of me selling my soul??

My name is Sylvia and I am a senior in high school as well as a freshman in community college. I have been dual enrolled at both schools since I was 15. I did this for a number of reasons. First, to relieve my father of financial pressure, to pick up some college credits, and to gain some college experience. I have a 4.0 at my community college and a 3.3 in high school. My problem is this- I have been accepted to Howard University, however, my father does not have the money to send me. He wants me to continue at my local community college, graduate with a 4.0, and go to an accredited university as a transfer. Should I take out a student loan and go against his will? I want to get out of this controlling and hostile environment at home. I would love to go to Howard this fall, and being a Howard grad himself, I know he wants the same for me. We just don't have the moula and I dont qualify for scholarship money because my SAT scores were slightly below the cutoff. What do I do? :(

Alright, Here's The Deal: I am 27 years old, married w/ 4 children (all 5 and under), work a full-time job w/ 40+ hours per week. Bills piled 2 ft. over my head! Now, I want To enroll into a local college(PJC), so I can get a degree in Computer Tech./Programming. I simply do not have the money to pay for any of this. Period. What Kind of Program will pay for it in full? If Not in full, at least 80% of the tuition, books, etc. I've went to the federal aid web site and looked at all the different loans and grants, but there is not enough info to answer my question. Any help would be appriciated.

Our landlord has asked us to move so a family member can use the home. We have 3 pets whom are like our children. Finding affordable pet friendly housing is difficult. We have limited income as my better half has had a hard time finding regular work. He started a new job last week, his first pay check will be in a week. The lordlord says she wants us out by 6/15. Housing with pets is like $300.00 a month more than were paying now plus there's the regular deposit, the first month, pet deposit, etc. We have been just getting by here. We make too much money for Section 8 housing in our area (family of 2 $22,700 per year) Are there any groups out there that help with housing till you can get on your feet? Our credit isn't good either so we can't look into buying at this time either. Any ideas would be great to hear. We worry everyday that we will get a notice to vacate before 6/15 since we donot have a lease. Thanks so much!
