Becasue at the rate I am going working full time with overtime. I am never going to finish. I am estimating it will only take a year and a half if I go back full time.

In some states there is a fee waiver called the governor's BOG waiver for low income students. Also the fasfa; for information go to fasfa.com. There are alot of opportunities if you know where to look.

You need to first pick a school and apply to it. Then you need to fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or fafsa. You can do this online, by searching for fafsa. You will need certain tax information and school info. The Department of Education will use a formula to asess your financial aid needs, and the school you apply to will use the fafsa and sometimes other information to come up with a financial aid package. There are avrious grants and scholarship programs. The best source for this information is the school financial aid office. There are many different student loan programs, some are run through the Deparment of Education and others are run privatelty, through banks. Grants are your best first option as this is money that is provided without the need to pay it back. Loans accrue interest and must be repaid. You first step is picking a school or potential schools and from there, getting financial aid advice. Every school has an office dedicated to financial aid and there are more students attending on some kind of aid then paying full price, out of pocket.

file the fafsa. if you plan on not working at all while in school, you may be in for a rude awakening. be prepared to take out some very expensive loans if you think you are going to support 2 children and go to school with the govt money. govt money is limited per year. beyond that, you will need private student loans. I went back to school as a single parent, with a 4.0 gpa. I got tons of scholarships, grants and student loans. I continued to work though, because the financial aid is not enough to live on. I refused to take out any loans that did not have deferred interest. those non-deferred, non-guaranteed type of loans will bury you by the time you are finished. and dont forget, you cannot file bankruptcy on any student loans. you will be stuck with them.
