maybe this is a rant and not a question but sorry i have to say it .Just because a person needs help (not me )who the hell are all these ignoramouses whose only answer is get a job and scrounger theres thousands of people who can`t work for no end of reasons . they could have cronic or terminal illness theres people with severe learning difficulties .people who have to live on a pittance to care for someone old and sick mothers with a severely handicapped child .how much would it cost the tax payer if all the carers put these people in residential homes and got a job ?we should be grateful they look after them .if i had to choose between those bitter nasty people and a scrounger it would be the scrounger every time

Okay, I'm applying for graduate school as we speak. And I've come across two questions.

A.) Do you wish to be considered for financial assistance?

Of Course.

B.) Do you require financial assistance?

I am unsure how to answer this second question. I'm afraid if I answer no, they won't even consider me for finanical aid; but if I answer yes I'm worried they might reject me alltogether because they can't give finanical aid.

If I don't get some sort of finanical aid (fellowship or Teaching Assitantship, at least), I'll probably be able to make it though grad school, but I'll probably have to take out a few loans. So, I don't REQUIRE finanical aid, but it is something that is very important.

Anyone with experience know the correct way to answer this question?

Okay, a couple of days ago, I got an invitation to a seminar about a financial aid program called Edifi. My initial thoughts were that it was something like OHLAP, so we went to the seminar today. They claimed that they are one of the most legit programs in the United States and that they can help to get their members into college for free. One problem: they ask for a $1,095 payment for their services, $99 of it being a down payment. My mom decided not to pay it today, but she has until Friday to pay it to get me in. I researched the program, and found a few sites saying that it is a scam...has anyone else heard of it and know whether it is a scam or not? I would hate for my mom to spend $1,100 dollars on me for it to turn out to be a scam...

I went on a USC tour and i was told that 100% of the cost will be waived by the school. It sounds too good to be true. I come from a low income family. My EFC is 70. How much exactly will i have to pay one year? Can some1 attending USC help me clearify this. I also heard rumors that USC flatters ppl with a lot of scholarships to bring ppl in. But by following year, not as much is given. Im planning on transfering over so i was just wondering the truth about the actual cost for attending USC. I dont want to graduate with a loan to pay off.
