There are many places out there that do not require ACT scores. However, they do probably require either an interview or an essay. They are free to apply for though.

First, in January or early February of your senior year and every year in college, fill out the form at FAFSA.ed.gov. It will help you tap into college and federal need based financial aid.

Second, your high school guidance office, if attending high school at the current time, offers a list of local scholarships.

Third, 35 states offer a website where you could apply for college admission and state grant. If your state is one of those who does not, search the state government website for college grants, and it should appear the right website.

Fourth, check your college's financial aid office and website. They often list private scholarships from organizations and companies.

Fifth, search the web for scholarships based on your intended college major, ethnicity, religion, and horses.

Finally, join several free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis.

Good luck!
