How much harder is it to get into pharmacy school if you didn't major in Pre-Pharm, like majoring in chem for example. A person who majored in chem and took all the prerequisite courses and PCAT, will be considered more or less than someone who took pre-pharm and PCAT?

I just found out my school I’ve been going to for the past quarter is not accredited for the degree I'm pursuing. They failed to tell me that little fact. I found out through the grapevine, and then confirmed it with the Academic office. Turns out that's true.
So now I want to get out, and go to a better school down the street..that just so happens to be a cheaper and IS accredited.

My question is...I took already took out a Federal Stafford Loan with this school, will it transfer with me to the other school? Or will I need to cancel this one and start a new one at the new school. And can I even start a new one if I had one already?

The second improvement is no more after-school tutoring. Tutoring is good to students who feels need to study. However, in Korea, educational system is to getting rely on the tutoring rather than school. That's the problem so students don't focus much on school instructions, but focus much on tutoring because if students have a good teacher with tutoring, then it may be more helpful than teachers. With tutoring, students have to pay a a lot of amount of money for Educational system. To improve this system, school exams must be easier. Korean schools only take mid-term and final in a semester.

However, a good students only can't determine based on Entrance Exam grades. Also, it will be good idea if Korean Educational Department allow students to take a twice in a year. THose students who messed the Exam, then retake the exam. It could be the opportunity to some students. Because only one Entrance Exam, students who mess the Exam, they have to wait for a year to take it. If this system improves, students must feel less pressure on taking Entrance Exam, and study the materials what will be on Entrance Exam. Then, students will have more confident on studying.

THe first improvement that would make the education system is the Entrance exam in a year in Korea. It's so important so student's future can count on this Entrance Exam. Students take it seriously because they want to go to good college. Going good college means that students are succeed in the education. This system made students sick so someone who doesn't take the Entrance Exam well, he/she is so depressed, and even someone killed himself or herself because of failure of exam. To improve this system is that schools should value the student's grade records. It will be unfair if those students have a good grade records, but they don't get a good result on the Entrance Exam, then their good records will be underestimated.

For students like me, education is the most important thing. Students know that's important so they try to get educational knowledge from school. But, there are some students whose not trying to do study or seems to them school is bored. THe reason is maybe those students are lazy. But, the main reason could be the wrong educational system, that made students are not doing well in school. In "School is Bad For Children", John Holt states that students come to school with excitement, anticipation. But later, students more become passive, lazy under the educational system. Same as in my own country, South Korea, need to have some improvements to make better educational system. Entrance exam should not be the ultimately important, No more after-school tutoring, and promote the Gardner's methods.

Entrance exam should not be ultimately important, no more after-school tutoring, and promote the Gardner's theory will make the educational system better. Those three systems will benefit students so students feel easier in the educational system. Educational system can't be perfect, but can benefit students. That's what the purpose of Education stands on; to benefit students.

I am in a very bad situation. I have 3 children that go to school. The teachers in our district are currently on strike. There are some, not all , of the teachers that have been accused of threatening parents and children during the strike. The same teachers were yelling "stranger danger" to the children who crossed the picket lines to go to school. One of the teachers is actually my son's 2nd grade teacher. This teacher was also one who was jumping on cars and screaming.
The story gets bigger...my MOTHER in LAW is the president of this school systems Board of Education. So I am actually caught in the middle here. I have not shown any support either way in my community. I am a concerned parent first!
My question is....should I risk sending my child back into this teacher's classroom when the strike is over? Is there a law that can protect my child? I'm just so scared for them.

I am 21 and I have been working with some lawyers in my city for over a year. I am currently finishing up school and about to give my LSAT in Feb to get in for Fall 2008. I want to continue my education from the same school and get a law degree here. However, with my undergraduate degree and minors, I can get a $100K off college and have stable life. However, I think my life needs more challenges and hence I want to go to law school. Do you think I should take the step and really do it? My family has strong support for me but if I am very sure that I am going to law school, should I take a break and go to law school? I wanted to defer my admission and work for a year and then get back to law school. Any input from real law students or lawyers would be very much appreciated. I am very ambitious and I think I can dedicate myself for law school.
