I am a student an undergrad Johns Hopkins Univerisity, which means I have access to the Bloomberg School of Public Health, the #1 Public Health school in the nation. I'm not sure if I want to do this major, only because I don't know if it is versatile enough in case I want to do something completely different with my career. Could I transfer into business after getting a Public Health major? How do people view public health majors, like on resumes?

I am really frustrated by the fact that most colleges and universities in the USA value extracurriculars more than academics. I mean, they accept students that have participated in various extracurricular activities but have done fairly poor in academics. One problem is, I think, that you cannot "measure" these extracurriculars, while you can measure academic performance. Another thing is that academics really reveal the character of a person- whether he is determined to do the hard work or not, while extracurriculars (I view mainly various clubs) do not show this at all. For example, you may be visiting conferences connected with clubs because there you have fun with a lot of people and not because you are doing anything serious. And still most colleges and universities will value more the fact that you have been to 10 conferences, where you actually had parties all the time, than they would value a GPA of 4.0. Which universities value more academics than extracurriculars?

No mean comment ok? I need help with an outline and ideas for my paper. It has to be about how the GA drought relates to freedom order and equality. The exact article I am working from is http://www.ajc.com/search/content/metro/stories/2007/11/09/truce_1110.html

Its about how FL is backing out of a truce which would help GA not run out of water (yeah i know. how mean!). Ga wants to reduce the amount of flow of water from lake lanier to FL, so that the lake will not deplete and so that georgia will not have to ration out water to its residents.

I received an associates degree at age 20. I got a job and work full time for about a year, only to realize that I wanted to go back to school to achieve my life goals. I went back to school at age 21 and found out that most of my classes didn't transfer and really don't count towards anything. So I basically have to start over to receive a bachelor's degree. I'm not sure if I want to be an Engineer or a Pharmacist. And I will be at least 25 years old or older when I graduate. I feel out of place because most people in my classes are younger than me and have progressed further through school at a younger age. Should I finish school or just try to get a job with the education that I already have?

I've looked around on countless websites and plenty of people have asked the same questions. None of my anthro professors have heard of this program and the academic degree required for an ISLP advisor is a BA/BS (hardly prestigious). Has anyone been on this thing before?

I probably would of dropped out of high school if I had not be forced to go to a boarding school. Regardless, why do parents send their troubled kids to boarding school? About 85% of the students at the boarding school I was attending were incredibly misguided, troubled and wealthy. The average kid at the school probably was failing most of his subjects. The boarding school did not seem to stop most of the kids from being criminals and failures. When most of the kids leave they will be the same or worse. I think most parents send their troubled kids to boarding schools because they are wealthy and do not want to help their own kid.
