In comparison to other schools? Is it up there with the ivies, or is it more like a Boston College/Middlebury/Hamilton? Please no "very hard/impossible" answers.

I have A/B+ grades in hard classes, I have overcome a major physical illness, and got myself into a very competitive prep school for senior year. I have played 2 sports, play 2 instruments, and have a job. I think I have pretty good chances, I am just wondering how competitive it is, thank you!

I'm going into my senior year of high school and I'm very set on going to an art college and studying graphic design. I need a new computer anyway so I'm switching to the Mac to both familiarize myself with it and hopefully bring it to college.

So I want to know: Is it even practical to bring my computer to art school? I've looked up computer requirements at some of the schools I'm looking at and they mostly say that students aren't required to bring one because they already have them there. But is it a good idea to have my own anyway? And if so, is it better to have a laptop or desktop?

A degree that I could get at a college - for cheap - would be better than one at a university.

Can a person have more than one Bachelor's degree? Like is you get one in let's say pre-vet then go on to veterinary college. Then later in life you want to add to that, could you go for another bacholers such as Zoo Science? Or what would it be considered?

I'm kind of in a bind and have a few questions to ask -- so please answer accordingly.

I'm thinking about going to a community college first to get an associates degree;

1) How long does it take to get into a Community college? I'm about to graduate from homecshooling and getting my diploma -- the last registration/class begins is in October. Would I be able to make it?

2) How are online classes? The college campus is kinda far with heavy traffic. I don't want to have to commute every day.

3) Lastly, disregarding #2, how often does a full time student go to class (5x a week, etc) at a community college for an associates degree?

Thanks!

My English teacher told my class that we could only use .edu or .gov websites for Internet research. I understand that it would be impossible for her to check nearly 100 students' sources, but I was stilled bothered her poilcy.

Many .edu sources I found were research papers by students or professors, which I wouldn't consider "credible" information necessarily. I wasn't able to find any .gov research (it was a literary project.) This teacher also forbid TIME and Newsweek articles, claiming that they were nothing but gossip.

Although I turned this project in many months ago, I'm curious (for my own sake) how to determine an Internet source credible. Are there certain domain names, or is it a case by case basis? How reliable are ".edu" sites anyway? Surely .edu sites contain as much "opinion" as Newspapers or news magazines?

And as a side note, in what situations are news magazines credible sources? Perhaps with biographical info., but not political analysis? Thank you!

Examples: People will say to me "Your pretty/nice". Your is a singular posessive PRONOUN & you're is the sentence contraction for you are. Same thing with "Their, They're & there". Their is a posessive pronoun (plural), they're is a sentence contraction for they are & there is a place as in "over there".
My question is: Are schools just spouting out idiots OR are people just lazy & stupid? I learned all this punctuation, grammar, etc when I was in 7th grade :( Sad!)

If you really think about it, The Republican Party is only running on a few key issues:
All of which indorse governmental policies in-line with Christian idealogy, despite the fact America is multicultural and will continue to grow as a diverse country.

The Republicans run on anti-Abortion, Anti-Gay marriage, the War on Terror, and the War on Iraq.

They stay far away from issues like universal healthcare, global warming/ environmental improvement, anti-job outsourcing and improving the conditions of the poor (those living under the Federal Poverty level).

They avoid these issues because they don't know how to answer them and are afraid they'll upset their ceocon/christian right base.

NOW, THE DEMOCRATS ARE THE EXACT OPPOSITE. They want to talk about the environment, healthcare, and improving the environment because these issues appeal to the middle class and poor.

I will be a new principal for the first time. It is in an elementary school, and I only have secondary experience. I want to "interview" each teacher to see what went well, what they think needs to change, what their expectations are, etc. Any pointers? Thanks in advance!
