Ok, Im a sophomore in high school, and for freshmen, and the first part of sophomore year, I received alot of D's and F's out of laziness. Now in my second semester, I have good grades , is there any chance that if I continue to get good grades that I can still get into college ?

I lived in japan for 3 years because my parents are in the military, so moving back to the states after freshmen year took a little adjusting.

i currently attend public school in missouri and I HATE IT. even though I am very young, i myself am very mature and the typical teenage, wild, act crazy scene isnt for me. I have established good social skills and for me, i feel as though i could benefit more from the learning process, if I were in a better atmosphere. And because Im so young, i really need to know in what direction to go to achieve my goal of being homeschooled. My mother can also help me, but we dont know what procedures we have to go threw so that i can learn at home.

1. First problem which I can’t get right.
Dy/dx| x=0
If y= 2/ sqrt(4-x)

Answer in the back of the book: 1/8

My work:
> sqrt(4) * 0 – (2) (1/2) (4-x)^(-3/2) / 4-x [quotient rule]
> -1/ (4-x)(4-x)^(3/2)
> -1/ (4-0)(4-0)^(3/2)
> -1/ 4* 8 =
= -1/32

But the answer of the back of the book says 1/8, can someone tell me what I did wrong?

2. Second problem which I can’t get right is:
Find the derivatives of the function:
F(x) = sqrt(s) – 1/ sqrt(s) + 1

Answer in the back of the book: f ‘ (s) = 1/ sqrt(s) * ((sqrt(s) + 1)^2)

My work:
F’(x) = (1/2)s [power rule]
G’(x)= -(1/2)s [power rule]

> ((1/2)*s) ((s^ (1/2)) +1) + (s^(1/2))*(-(1/2)s) [quotient rule]
> From here I expanded, but it ended up, and it cancelled out. What should’ve I done?

3. What does it mean when a problem ask me to find the smallest slope?
Question: What is the smallest slope on the curve? At what point on the curve dos the curve have this slope?

I am 18 and moved fom Ireland to the US when I was 10, so I got to fifth class. Now, I am looking to return to Ireland for college and I have an Irish passport and social security card. Does this make me entitled to the tuition fees of someone who has been educated in Ireland or will I have to go through the International student office and pay its lofty fees and tuition? The problem is, I have not taken the leaving cert, so would I have to do that in order to apply as an Irish citizen? I'm a little confused and I find the individual college websites to be useless for this type of info so I would appreciate any answers! Thanks!

Coming form a private religious institution, I believe that private religious intstituions should be state funded. The only funding that we recieve is that of the diocease, tutition, and chariable donations, where as public schools receive funding from the state, lottery, vouchers and also chariable funds. Why can't 75% or even 50% of the school taxes go to the private schools in which the paren'ts children are attending and the other 25%-50% go to the public schools and vice versa if it was a public school student? We are still funding for both schools. Also why can't the lottery be for private schools as well even though that the lottery states that the money is going toward education? It never stated it directly for public education only but requirements for a lottery scholarship only apply to those high school graduates from public schools. What do you think?

Because the beautiful teacher sleeping with the student DOES NOT RUIN the 15 year old. I know, because I was one of the students. It was 1977 and I was 15. As a matter of fact, my relationship with my teacher was a very positive influence on my life. She taught me many things in and outside the bedroom. We did this for 2 years and I never told anyone. We got away with it. She was a beautiful woman.
