Adult tickets cost $6, child tickets cost $1. If there were 32 people at a performance and the theater collected $117 from ticket sales, how many children attended?
Have tried and tried, just can't figure this out, could you show how you got the answer too please?

I mean, about sixty percent of the time, you see people saying, "too" when they mean "to"; it can't be typos for all of them. Some people need to go back to school.

My son is in the 8th grade. He has played football for 2 years and cannot wait to play high school football and dreams of playing college and then pro one day. The question I have is, we, my husband and I have recently purchased a weekend home in a small town and we really love it there. The school my children would go to is sooooo small there is no football there and no band but, my children would get so much more help academically ( i think) 1:8 teacher student ratio where we live now it is 1:25. School enrollment all grade levels is only like 400 kids. My oldest daughter is on honor roll in band and is active in everything at her high school of 2000 students now. I have explained to them that in a small town their chances of scholarships are GREATER yet, my children do not want to move. We currently live in the city and violence is EVERYWHERE... WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

I am taking a copy-editing class and can't figure out what is wrong with these sentenes (I know I just asked about one before haha). The first one is:

"Luck has nothing to do with it," Marlow said.

"Then he said, 'Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes."

It doesn't take long to drive from Washington D.C. to Baltimore.

On the secondary level, I think that English teachers work the most hours (due to all of the essays and papers that they have to grade) versus any other type of public secondary school teacher. Who agrees? What type of teacher works the least amount of hours? Why don't they pay English teachers more than say, a P.E. teacher?

Hi,

I asked about the sentence below several minutes ago

I am sorry that I haven't / didn't / had not / wiritten to you for a long time as I have been very busy.

Some answers suggested that I can use either "have not" or "did not". Both are correct but I would like to know

Under what context should i use "have not" and under what context should I use "did not" ??

Thanks
