Depends on the university, but 5 years is a decent rule of thumb.

Please tell me you mean graduate schools and not colleges.

GRE will maintain your scores for 5 years. It is better to take the GRE this summer while the information is still fresh in your mind. It is going to be tough to prep for the exam when you are working fulltime and have a family. If you wait 10 or more years, your scores will be outdated and you will have to re-take the exam, but at least you will have experienced the test once already and know what to expect. Why wait so long to get your Masters? You should be able to complete a program in two years if you are going fulltime. Many unversities are offering some of their grad classes online, which can make it easier for those of us who are working fulltime while attending grad school.
