Education & Reference - 19 January 2007

I've been battling this since the 1rst week of school. The teacher aims to reach the struggling kids w/o advanced work for the others. She hands out worksheet after worksheet. My daughter cries and begs to be homeschooled, she has asked me for a teacher that is more difficult and complained repeatedly that she is bored and not challenged. (her words, not mine)
Her K teacher was a veteran with high expectations. She pushed the kids very hard and got results. All summer, my child wanted to go back to school ... now I have to drag her out of the house each day.
I've been to the VP 3x.(getting to the principal is like getting to see the Wizard of Oz). I have met with the VP, the teacher and the gifted program dir. together. They tested her for the gifted program and she was denied by 2 pts on 1 part of the assessment.
The g.p. was the only pos. reinforcement she's gotten all yr! What can I do now? My child is still not challenged and they are not offering her any solutions.

I know its my fault initially for not managing my time well between working 35 hours and going to school full-time. since then Ive been dismissed I took a quarter off and enrolled at another college and getting better grades...I wanna transfer back to this university but they need a written statement (petition) why they should take me back... I just need some help on what to say.. I have most of it done just want some outside advice..Preferably someone who has been through this or worked at a University. I would appreciate it!

ok so heres what i want to know

-i go to a small private school(about 70 ppl per grade)..i have been there since kindergarten and i love it there

-if i want to...i can go to a public school anytime

-my mom says if i stay at a private school i dont have a good chance at getting into a big college --this like doused my dreams...
(Notre Dame, Uni. of Texas, UNC, BC, NYU)
{can you tell i live on the east coast}

-my sisters friends are going to places like Penn State, VT, UNC, UVA
-->those seem like big colleges to me!

my question is:

HOW COME IF YOU GO TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL--YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF GETTING INTO A BIG COLLEGE THAN IF YOU GO TO A PRIVATE SCHOOL?

I know this is a question that I can't really have anyone else answer but myself, but I am juggeling the three I really am interested in Court Reporting and being a Paralegal I have a 15 month old and I would like something that takes less time and pays well but mostly pays well less time would be more convenient for my situation but I'm looking for the long term goal of being happy and successful. So I was hoping that maybe someone reading this question has exeriance in one of these feilds and you can tell me what the perks would be. I'm not very good at math, I'm good at reading writing, typing. I'm more artistic than anything basically.
