contact your lender to learn if you are eligible for a deferment. do not contact an outside source (such as the link the previous poster listed) without talking to your lender and/or your financial aid counselor (even if you have graduated) first. they have information that will help you safeguard yourself against being taken advantage of. it's too easy to fall prey to a scam these days. protect yourself and the money you work hard to earn.

how does student loans come into taxes..u don't file debts to file taxes.. Unless u are filing extra student aid or if u are in default...but u can file taxes and get money back no matter what u owe.. If there is a court order for ur taxes..u can't.. Everything goes by SS number..U could always sell things on e-bay or sell plasma (they pay for that). Other than get a job..not much u can do..

Can you get a part time job to help accumulate a little stash for emergencies? Everybody should have a little extra money for unexpected things. I suggest you just get an honest safe job, if you won't lower your grades.
