Powdercoat is a process of taking a part and running it thru various wash cycles, blowing it dry, running it thru a spray booth where the powder clings to the metal then baked on to a finish. There are all types of powdercoat finishes. Matte, textured, wrinkle and various degrees of gloss from a low gloss of 0-20% to a very high gloss of 100%. That all sounds pretty simple but there are variations of oven degrees and washes to get the correct finish.

Powdercoated means that the finish has been applied in a dry powder form and then heated to its final form.
