The two most famous culinary schools in America are the Culinary Institute of America in New York, and Johnson & Wales University in Providence (and some other campuses around the country). These schools have given 2 year degrees (ASsociates) and four year degrees (Bachelors) to thousands of food professionals - they not only teach you how to be an extremely expert chef, but they also give you a good general education and a business education so that you can run your own restaurant well and avoid financial problems. It can vary from school to school, but attending a community college can take you just 2 years of schooling.
