Optometry is a field that helps people see with their eyes. Usually means helping people fix their prescriptions with glasses or contacts.
To become an optometrist, you have to graduate from undergrad (degree doesn't matter, just take the optometry school's required courses) and then get into optometry school. It's not med school (those docs are ophthalmologists).
